About me

Previously I worked as an interiors stylist, a florist and a school Matron. Always interested in the mystical and magical I was first attuned to Reiki in 2010. I am now a reiki master teacher.

I have always sought Reiki teachers who uphold high standards of professionalism. I first trained with Graham King who co-founded The Sam Buxton Sunflower Healing Trust. As I practiced Reiki on friends and family I felt that Jikiden Reiki was most suited to the way I wanted to work. Jikiden is the simplest and most original form of Reiki. My teacher is a wonderful Japanese man called Tadao Yamaguchi. I also use Usui Reiki in my practice.

Reiki brings peace and tranquility into my life on a daily basis. As a practitioner I hope to be able to share this with my clients.

Covid precautions and client confidentiality maintained at all times. I am a member of the UK Reiki Federation
and am insured with Balens. I am trained in Emergency First Aid and have a DBS check. All documentation available during client registration.

A luxury reiki session can include a sound bath using a tibetan singing bowl, reiki drumming and smudging.

A treatment generally lasts 45 minutes with time for you to relax afterwards.

What is Reiki?

Reiki can help us cope by encouraging relaxation and bringing balance to both mind and emotions. Benefits reported by clients and patients include deep relaxation promoting a calm, peaceful sense of wellbeing, on all levels. Reiki encourages and supports positive personal choices such as improving diet, taking more exercise, devoting time for rest or leisure activities. Reiki can create a greater inner harmony and balance; regular Reiki treatments promote a calmer response to life’s challenges. Reiki’s gentle energy is easily adapted to most medical conditions and may be used safely by people of all ages, from new-born babies to the frail and the elderly. It is widely used with pregnant mothers, surgical patients and many other conditions. Reiki is also suitable for animals and is often used in locations such as animal rescue and other care centres, some veterinary practices, animal hospitals and private practice. Reiki can enhance everyday living, and regular sessions may help to promote development of a healthier, more resourceful state of being. It doesn’t cure or get rid of any health conditions by itself. Reiki is increasingly offered in hospitals, hospices and private practice settings.

Reiki is based on an Eastern belief that vital energy flows through your body. The idea is that a Reiki practitioner uses gentle touch - or places their hands just above your body - to help guide this energy in a way that promotes balance and healing.

How does Reiki work? You lie on a massage table, fully dressed, while a practitioner places their palms on or just over different body parts that are thought to be hubs for energy. They’re simply using gentle touch at most. You might feel sensations like heat, tingling, or pulsing where their hands are, or throughout your body. Or you might not notice any changes. Some people get so relaxed that they fall asleep. A Reiki session usually lasts about 45 minutes.

What should I expect after Reiki? You should feel more relaxed. If you’re getting Reiki for a health condition you’ll still need to follow your treatment and see your doctor like you usually do. Reiki doesn’t replace your regular medical care. It is important to drink lots of water afterwards and resting can help you get the full benefit of the treatment. If you don’t feel comfortable with anything it’s important to discuss this with your practitioner. Reiki practitioners are not trained in diagnosis. If people are concerned about their symptoms they should see a doctor. There are no contraindications with Reiki.

As Reiki practitioners we know that Reiki works. Each of us has our own stories to tell of the amazing effects of Reiki. Collectively this can be called anecdotal evidence and it has convinced many patients and students to try it for themselves. And once people try Reiki, they tend not to need any further convincing. Medical professionals and scientists, however, are often looking for more evidence before they accept Reiki. With love & appreciation

Kirsty

I felt strong and positive emotional shifts from the very first session I had with Kirsty.  I found her to be very intuitive; she was spot on.  After just one treatment, I felt a renewed sense of positivity, and a greater perspective.

Testimonials

I found Reiki really restful and therapeutic and the best way to find relaxation at a very stressful time. Thank you Kirsty.

LH

Since I have been facing a lot of problems over the past year, I have tried a lot, but I have not moved much from the place I was in. I was amazed that from just a few sessions I was able to move forward. Everything now makes more sense. Now I live my life a lot more relaxed and I can even support the people around me.

Thank you Kirsty for everything.
